And I was doing so well, posting every day. Oh, well…

The new site colors are courtesy of Amanda. She thought my former
colors were too cold and uninviting, so she changed them. I rather like
it. But if there are any complaints, it’s her fault.

This weekend was a busy one with Amanda. Here’s a simple rundown. If
you don’t care, I’ll post a more thoughtful post later today. If you’re
curious what I did this weekend, read on.

Friday night, we went to
Chili’s for dinner because apparently anywhere in Orland Park on a
Friday night at 7:30 is packed. The late dinner was partly my fault
because I finally bought a new car radio to replace the one that got
stolen over Spring Break. FYI, if you buy one from Circuit City,
they’ll take an hour to put it in. I don’t know why they don’t make
modular radios. Maybe one day…

After a nice, low-key dinner, we headed back to my place to watch Josie and the Pussycats.
It’s a great satire on the consumer, manufactured music, teen-oriented
culture that we live in nowadays. It hits its targets hard and
savagely. Highly recommended.

Saturday was Starved Rock. We packed a picnic that morning and drove
out to Utica (that’s so fun to say… u-ti-ca!). The weather was
absolutely gorgeous: 72 degrees and sunny. We could not have gone on a
better day. The wind was there just enough to cool things down and the
sun wasn’t blazing hot. After eating a picnic on a nice spot
overlooking the Illinois River, Amanda and I went on a hike for about
three or four hours. We needed the exercise, but man, did I feel it
Saturday night. If anyone’s curious, hit up her site for the pictures.

We were dead Saturday night, so we grabbed some Subway (man, is that place expensive nowadays or is it just me???) and stayed at my place and fell asleep watching Mean Girls.

Sunday morning, after church and dinner, we just hung out at my place
and played some Xbox and watched one of the best science fiction movies
ever, Contact. A relaxing, lazing Sunday was a nice way to cap off the weekend.

“I guess I’d say… If it’s just us, seems like an awful waste of space.”
