Note to self: Make sure the bottom of slides are dry before attempting to slide down them.

So, I’ve decided I don’t like light pollution. Amanda and I went for a
midnight walk and it was a beautiful night, albeit a bit cold, but it
was nothing our sturdy denim jackets couldn’t take. There were no
clouds in the sky, so you could see the stars, but from previous
experience of being in Colorado and parts of the world where there are
no major cities with lights, the Chicago evening sky is very
disappointing.

In pitch blackness, the evening sky is just stunning. From one horizon to the other, the sky is just bursting with
stars and planets and shooting stars. You can see parts of the Milky
Way. It is something that inspires awe, humbleness, and gratitude for
your existence, all mixed together with a huge respect for God and your place in the world.
Speechlessness is usually the proper response after viewing the cosmic
creation before your eyes.

I think we need less lights, more stars. The world would be a much better place.
