In response to yesterday’s post, don’t get me wrong. Being in a relationship is a wonderful blessing and it has its benefits, but you are dealing
with another person. They have their own way of doing things, they have
their own reasoning that may not be the same as yours. They may have grown up doing some things differently. It is not always
fun and games.

Sometimes it does take real work to make
things run smoothly.
Sometimes you’ll drive each other nuts.
Sometimes
you’ll fight.
Sometimes you’ll yell, scream, and cry, not necessarily in that order.
Sometimes you’ll
look at the other person and shake your head and go, “Why am I dating
this person?”

But then something amazing happens.

When you look at that person, you start remembering why you fell in love with them. Your brain starts listing off all the wonderful things about them. When they hug you, it all comes back to you. And you know deep down in your heart, no matter how much work it takes, you will do it. You will do whatever it takes, whether it is moving mountains or digging a hole to China, to make it work. You know that no matter what kind of days approach, easy ones or hard ones, it’s all worth it because when you’ve found someone that understands you better than you understand yourself, then that’s a rare gift, indeed.

“The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another
human being with whom one’s relationship has a glowing depth, beauty, and joy
as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings
is a most marvelous thing, it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately
wishing for it. It is a sort of Divine accident.”
